BonsaiFEST

Pacific Bonsai Museum | Sat | May 13 | 10:00 AM

Calling all bonsai enthusiasts and novices:

Join us for a dazzling and inspiring experience at Pacific Bonsai Museum’s fourth BonsaiFEST! This event will take place on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 (Mother’s Day weekend) at Pacific Bonsai Museum. You will have the opportunity to admire hundreds of exquisite bonsai in a serene and natural setting. BonsaiFEST! coincides with the peak of spring blossoms, making it a wonderful and refreshing time to visit the Museum and celebrate the art of bonsai with our community.

Unless specified otherwise, all events take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

  • Azalea, wisteria, and other lovely flowering bonsai are likely to be at "peak-bloom."
  • Don’t miss the opening weekend debut of Pacific Bonsai Museum’s 2023 special exhibition, Avant-garden, showcasing bonsai artists pushing the botanic and artistic boundaries of bonsai like you’ve never seen before.
  • The Puget Sound Bonsai Association (PSBA) Spring Show features aisles of diverse bonsai created by PSBA members. Also returning this year is PSBA’s remarkable mame (“ma-may”) exhibition — a collection of the tiniest bonsai around.

Enjoy live bonsai-making demonstrations — see how the bonsai are created and talk to bonsai artists about their craft; demonstrations begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day and last for up to three hours.

Join docent-led tours of the collection — ask questions and share insights; tours start at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. and take approximately 45 minutes, both days; meet at the Conservatory. No prior sign-up is required.

Explore the collection with your smartphone using an independent audio tour; currently offered in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Venue: 2515 S 336th Street, Federal Way, WA 98001
